Rimac Concept One shows what 0-100 km/h in 2.6 seconds looks like

Photo-by-Rimac-Automobili.jpg

The Rimac Concept One is further proof you can achieve ludicrous acceleration on four wheels without burning a drop of gasoline. The Croatian automaker claims the electric hypercar can zap to 100 kilometres per hour (62 miles per hour) from a standstill in a mere 2.6 seconds. Any company can make a promise about its vehicle, though. In a video, Rimac shows that the acceleration figure is quite realistic.

With no introduction, the stationary Rimac Concept One blasts to 120 km/h (75 mph) in just a couple of seconds in this clip. We then get to see it launch from the outside, and there’s a short yelp as the tires scramble for traction. According to company CEO Mate Rimac in a comment to this video, the automaker is still working to improve the electric hypercar. With the right road surface and tire temperature, “2.4 seconds is also possible”, he writes.

Rimac unveiled the production version of the Concept One at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The coupe has four electric motors – two on each axle. The total output is 1,088 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque. A torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system makes sure so much power actually makes it to the road. An 82 kilowatt-hour battery also gives drivers a range of 330 km (205 miles).

Rimac plans to make just eight units of the Rimac Concept One for approximately $1,070,000 (€742,000) each. But the company is already hard at work on its next project. The Concept S has 1,384 horsepower and a body that produces 34 percent more downforce that its predecessor.

Louis Vuitton has unveiled a new collection of rolling luggage created in collaboration with Australian designer Marc Newson. Amazingly lightweight and sturdy, the new Louis Vuitton luggage is expressly designed for the 21st century traveler.

Marc Newson

Australia’s most lauded design export, Marc Newson, has again collaborated with Louis Vuitton on a range of rolling Luggage that marries the designer’s signature predilection for curvilinear forms and bold colours with the ‘Art of Travel’ ethos that underpins the storied French house

I feel that I am in many ways kind of uniquely placed to be able to do that, as a consumer more so than a designer

Marc Newson

Marc Newson’s designs, 18 months in development, eventuated in an increased internal volume of 15%

Marc Newson Louis Vuitton2.jpg

What compelled me to join forces with Louis Vuitton was the challenge to design a great piece of Luggage, because like a lot of people, I travel a lot

Marc Newson

Dropping in stores from July 15 and online from September 30, Vuitton and Newson’s rolling trunks were 18 months in the making and are a surefire sign that haute hand Luggage has reached its zenith. Each piece boast, per Vuitton, ‘a new type of self-reinforced polypropylene composite, essentially representing the structure of the trunk, moulded in a mesh matrix of several layers’, – meaning he cases are both light and able to withstand the rigours of travel.

The Louis Vuitton x Newson trunk will be availble in the signature Monogram Canvas, Monogram Eclipse, Damier check print, Graphite, Taiga leather and in natural cowhide leather that comes in seven colors of Epi leather.

Other innovattions include ‘a transversal side hinge’ that allows for a complete 180 degree opening; a three-diget TSA approved combination lock to secure your invaluable assets and a single zip – all in the name of reducing weight and streamlining your time in transit, and all of wich are patent pending.

I think it’s safe to say that we’re striving to break new ground in terms of developing a product which is one of the lightest on the market, and from a technical perspective is one of the most rigorously designed and engineerd

Marc Newson

Alongside the classic monographed models, Newson’s of New Rolling Luggage includes bright orange, pink and blue versions with only minimal logos.

The four-wheeled suitcases – which come in mini, cabin and maxi sizes – feature extendable handles that retract into the outside edge of the trunks, so as not to interfere with packing space.

The smallest of the lightweight bags in the collection weight just 2.9 kilograms, but its internal space is 13 per cent larger than similar bags.

A side handle for carrying and a padlock system have also been built into the side of the trunk.

No Rinsing Needed with La Mer’s Cleansing Micellar Water

La-Mer-Cleansing-Micellar-Water-1024x827

It’s the stuff models and make-up artists swear by, and have been around for a good century. The Micellar Water first shot to fame in France, during a time where the region battled with a notoriously harsh water supply, the miracle of Micelles comes from the way they remove the skin’s impurities without drying it out.

La Mer’s The Cleansing Micellar Water takes the age-old Micellar technology miles ahead with injections of signature marine nutrients and their famed Miracle Broth’s healing benefits, in a stellar concoction that combines the best of both worlds. Adding to the lush vibe of the pristine sea, from which it draws inspiration, unleashing a light, transparent freshness as it sweeps away impurities and micro-emulsifies makeup. The grime, dirt and oil it clings on to dissolves, leaving behind a beautiful, hydrated glow.

La-Mer-Cleansing-Micellar-Water-2-1024x827.jpg

The potent and pure Cleansing Micellar Water doesn’t just provide a moment’s worth of powerful cleansing. Rather, one can be certain to enjoy both instant and long-term skin benefits in these unique cleansing structures, since it’s been engineered with new Marine Micellar Waters.

The skin eventually exhibits a healthy, luminous glow, which continues to strengthen and renew thanks to the time-progressive efforts of negatively charged water molecules, which moves deeper into the skin’s surface, delivering restorative sea minerals.

La-Mer-Cleansing-Micellar-Water-3-1024x827.jpg

No rinsing is needed, as the skin is instantly and completely cleansed with purifying algae infusion, where positively-charged water molecules micro-emulsify impurities (women use it even for waterproof makeup).
